VB-8000
series 2-1/2” to 6” Flanged Globe Valve
Innovative
Balanced Plug Design: Balanced Plug technology lowers the
force required to operate the valve, achieving exceptionally
high close-off of 125 psi on 2-way valves. This is up to 7
times higher than conventional valve designs, even in the
most demanding applications. Instead of pushing against the
water flow as in conventional designs, the new Patented
Balanced Plug, with 90% less surface area than conventional
valves, cuts through the water. This greatly reduces the
force required top operate and close the valve.
Higher
close-offs are achieved without bulky, costly actuators or
tandem linkages. In addition, no expensive balancing
chambers or double seals are required. This permits more
actuator options, particularly on 5” and 6” valves. With
less force required to operate the valve, actuator life is
extended. A downloadable demonstration of the Balanced Plug
Technology can be found in the More Information
section of this page.
Patented Plug
and Seat Contour: The patented contoured seat precisely
controls the flow of water or steam as the plug slides,
closing off the rim of the seat. The VB-8000 Balanced Plug
Valve provides rangeability of 100:1 for more precise
temperature control. Many competitors’ valves have
rangeability of 50:1 or even 10:1, which provides only
½ to 1/10 of the control capability of the VB-8000,
resulting in poor control. More precise control, especially
at low demand, provides better comfort. It also reduces
“hunting” that adds wear and tear on the actuator.
Industry Best
ANSI IV Leakage Rating: TAC Balanced Plug VB-8000 valves
feature ANSI Class IV leakage. That’s 0.01% leakage. Most
valves of this size have 0.5% or even 0.1% leakage. The
increased leakage of competitors’’ valves means that
more fluid needs to be conditioned, resulting in greater
operating costs. With today’s energy prices, the valve can
pay for itself in as little as 3 years.
Unique 3-Way
Design: The 3-way VB-8000 valve can be used in mixing,
diverting, and 2-way angle valve applications if either side
port is sealed off. That’s because the common “AB”
port is on the bottom of the valve. A plate showing the
correct piping is installed on all 3-way valves to assist
contractors in the field. A common 3-way valve makes valve
selection easier and stock inventory of spares can be
reduced.
