AFR actuators are pretensioned by 5° at the factory before they are delivered so that they can be installed more quickly. The constant spring force automatically ensures tight damper sealing and also compensates for any age-related deformation of the damper seals. Functional reliability is also enhanced.

Not all safety actuators need the same high standards of functionality. So, in order to accommodate those different needs, Belimo has introduced into its existing range of proven Series AF spring-return actuators the somewhat simpler and therefore cheaper AFR type of actuator. It is suitable for any application where manual control can be dispensed with and one auxiliary switch is enough.

The well-proven Belimo principle of direct coupling greatly reduces the cost of installation while the spring-return feature ensures the best possible reliability and safety. Depending on the particular type of actuator, control can be exercised through normal conventional control systems offering Open-Close (24 or 230V) or modulating modes (DC 0...10 V).
